"Beautiful Remedies" - a superb art exhibit

Dear Diary:

Last weekend I went to an art exhibit by Mathilde Vhargon, a very creative person in both worlds.
Her exhibit is being showcased at Dante's Vault, a spectacular setting.  As soon as you walk in the door your senses are immediately heightened by the colours around you.
Mathilde's digital art contains colours that meld together, but pop with surprise, yet it all fits into any decor.

The photographs she's taken of nude figures are exciting, ethereal and tastefully done.
Her sculptures on the second floor and in the courtyard, are amazing.  This sculpture, called "Volution X3", is one of my favourites.

Mathilde's exhibition at Dante's Vault, will be there until October 10th and I hope everyone goes by to see her work and to meet Mathilde as she's often present.  If you don't get a chance to drop in before the 10th, you can see other creative offerings at her gallery, Two Shores Gallery.  It was an inspiring day for me.  I truly admire the talent that Mathilde has since I'm a person who can't draw a straight line.

Good Night for now.

Venez au Carnaval!

Dear Diary:

Last night a new area opened to a big gala.  Paris Metro 1900 shows Paris as it might have been at the turn of the last century and they celebrated with a carnival. They offered a wonderful formal gown, with colours based on a painting from Matisse, that was absolutely free!  How great is that!  And you could wear it with or without an aubergine jacket.

There was live entertainment at a beautiful dance area.
The surroundings really did make it seem that you were in early Paris days.  You could drive around in a vintage car to see the area.
I stopped to get my picture taken by a local photographer.
It was a wonderful night in a very romantic location.  I danced the night away and my feet still hurt today.
Good Night for now.

The 48 Hour Project

Dear Diary:

Every year machinima production companies can participate in the "48 Hour Film Project" sponsored by the University of Western Australia.  This event took place last weekend.
On the Friday night, the participants are given a theme.  In the next 48 hours, the machinima companies have to write a script, build sets, audition actors, get costumes, film the production and do the editing.  This is a huge undertaking but the results are amazing!  I was very lucky to be involved in this.

Today I visited the University of Western Australia theatre.  They were setting up for a showing of the finalists on Thursday, September 23 at 1pm or 7pm slt. I sat up in the theatre and looked at the stage and the soon-to-be screen. It was a great view. No matter where you sit, you'll be able to see clearly.
Next I went into the garden area where they have chairs and a picnic table set up.  There's a voting board where you can vote for the film that you think is best.
I'm really excited about seeing the productions and I hope everyone takes advantage of seeing these quality films produced in Second Life.

Good Night for now.

A Beautiful Dress

 Dear Diary:

Oh...I've been SOOO busy in both worlds, that I'm turning from end to end.  Last night I went to a wedding of my bff and I wore this gorgeous dress that I bought at Azul.  I love the colour.  It's very different...not brown...not grey...but great for Fall.  The skirt floats and moves and flies around you.  It's such a wonderful dress and I received so many compliments on it.  It comes with the matching gloves which solves a lot of problems of trying to match them to this colour. I wore my hair in an "off-the-face" up do with hair accessories on the back so I felt just like a princess!

While I was taking the picture, Luciano complimented me on the dress so I asked him if he would like to be in my diary.  Of course he said yes so here he is!

What a hunk!!  Then his friend Antony wanted to be in it too...

The skirt of my dress seemed to overtake everyone but it was a fun day of taking pictures.

Good Night for now.

Oh What a Lazy Sunday!

Dear Diary:

Yesterday was rainy and dark and I really didn't feel like doing anything so when I saw Real Living advertise the special for Lazy Sunday, I ran out and bought it.  Appropriately, I had a stack of reading to do and really didn't feel like getting to it.  After supper, I put on my jammies, my comfy slippers, had a glass a wine and started to read.
HA!!!!  I read the newspaper....
 I read a recommended novel....
I read a fashionista book....
And I started another novel.
Did I ever get to my necessary-work-related-reading???  What do you think?  **Psst...it was a very relaxing evening doing nothing**

I'm exhausted from shopping!!

Dear Diary:

Over the past few days I've been shopping my little "assets" off (literally...my lindens need to be replenished)!  I started out at Hair Fair 2010.  Wow!!  I went crazy!!  There was so much to choose from that I couldn't make up my mind so I bought them all.  This is one of my first purchases and I love this look.
I have a thing for hats.  I like wearing them with anything and now that the weather is getting cooler, I'll be wearing them even more.

Of course, once I got the hair/hat thing going, I had to get some clothes to go with it.  I picked this outfit up at Designers United 4 and loved the idea of being able to wear the jacket in parts or all of it.  I bought it on a cool day so added all the items, including the scarf.  It's so cozy looking.
I added some leggings and boots that were in my closet and the whole look came together very well.
Oh I do love shopping!

Good night for now.

I Really Hate Waiting!

Dear Diary:

The other night Jared and I planned on going out for a couple of drinks.  I threw together a sexy little outfit that I thought was DYN-O-MITE!!
"Meet me in the alley behind the club?" he asked.
"OK", I said, "at what time?"
"How about 9?"
"Perfect!", I replied, knowing it would take me that long to get ready after work.  I styled my hair, spent hours on my makeup, dabbed on my best perfume, put on my new earrings.  I must say....I LOOKED HAWT!!!
I always like to get there early so I was of course....and I waited....
and I waited....
and I waited!!

But finally Mr Wonderful showed up an hour late!  He forgot what alley he was going to....hmmmm...as if!!  By then I was so angry at him, I didn't feel like drinks and dancing, but that only lasted a short time.  I was out for a good time.  And we did have a lot of fun.

Good Night for now.

Is it the end of summer?

Dear Diary:

It always seems that once Labour Day is over, summer is over too.  So I decided I would celebrate the weekend by going to a park and acting like a kid.  I found this great place, called the "Playground Water Park". It's huge with so many things to do, that I really needed to look at the map to get around.
I tried everything I could in a short period of time. It was so much fun.
Running the water hoops
Hanging from the bars

Playing on the rides
Racing through the tires
Reading a book
Meditating on a Lotus flower...AND

It was so wonderful being a child again.  I'll try it again soon.

Good Night for now.

School Days!

Dear Diary:

The other day I was shopping at Shampoo when I saw their newest release and it made me think of when I went to school.  I had to wear a uniform - white shirt, black tie, plaid skirt, sensible shoes.  Of course, the outfit at Shampoo was much nicer looking but I had to buy it for old time's sake.  At school, make-up was a no-no, as was jewelry, except for a watch. This certainly brought back memories.

I was not the best student in the class.  When I got an assignment I left it to the last minute.  Of course, I didn't have a laptop in those days.  Maybe that would have made it much easier to finish something - on time!

"I work best under pressure," I would tell myself.  Yes, I would get it done but not without a lot of anxiety and a lot of talking to myself.
Yes, this cute outfit brought back many memories for me and it was NOT all about the work.  I had a great time in school.  I still have friends today that I see all the time that went to school with me.  There are many things I remember with fondness and with laughs.

Good Night for now.
